Gerik is easily the best Mercenary in the franchise, as far as I’m concerned (granted, I have not played the Tellius games, so I don’t know about those characters). He beats out even the mighty Ogma.

Weirdly enough, I know most people make him a Hero, but I like to make him a Ranger. He has such ridiculous defense that even a Horseslayer lance can’t phase him, and holy shit his strength stat means that he can deliver some serious, serious damage. Plus, I like having the mobility of a ranger, as well as the access to the bow and arrow.

Tethys is awesome too. I personally think she’s even better than Ninian (except that Ninian and Nils have the rings that can add stat buffs). She dodges attacks like crazy and has pretty good durability when she does take a hit. And I love Tethys’ personality. I also love how she can tell off Innes.
